From your call to a working door

1. Call the number. Your call goes to a local garage door service provider who covers your part of Houston.
2. Describe what happened. A bang, a stuck door, a dead opener. Mention the door size if you know it, and whether you have one spring or two.
3. Get the price first. Ask for the full price, including parts, labor and any trip charge, before any work starts.
4. Get the door working. The technician replaces the spring or fixes the opener, then checks the door’s balance and the safety reverse.

Who you’re talking to

Bayou City Spring & Opener Repair is a free referral service. Calls are connected to independent garage door service providers in the Houston area, who may pay a fee for the referral. We don’t do the repair work ourselves. Providers set their own prices and are responsible for their licensing, insurance and workmanship.

What to ask before work starts

• The total price, including parts, labor and any trip or after-hours fee
• Whether they’re replacing one spring or both, and why
• The cycle rating of the new springs
• The warranty on parts and on labor
• An arrival window, if they can’t come right away
